10,000 moments of love

You must have held my hand
I was slipping away
I know you have been
where my body has laid
I remember your visits
the smell of the flowers
as you spoke of our memories
for hours and hours
Sun shining down
the wind in your hair
longing to hold me
when I wasn’t there
all by yourself
you never lost class
when loves sun was setting
through physical glass
you had to have been there
when I met my son
wiped tears from your eyes
as you held what we won
Remembering splendor
of honeymoons past
to the doghouse at sixty
when you discovered my stash
I’m living a new life
just borrowing shoes
to walk me back home
for the love I can't lose
I feel like a man
that's lived 10,000 lives
and each time I'm within one
I know you’re my wife ©

This is too beautiful. Is this a song? I am curious how the melody sounds & rhythm flows. Great talent. I wish I’m as good as you.

    • I believe you’re as good. I’ve found much of what others see as good within my writing, through suffering. It’s something we all share in this life. I wouldn’t wish any suffering upon you. It’s a very lonely way to live. Any love that I write about… I’ve not found. But, I always look forward to reading what your heart will write. Many smiles come from wisdom I find within you. God bless you!

That’s so me. I draw and write whenever I’m at my lowest. The love poems I’ve written are the effect of too much reading too-good-to-be true books..lol whatever love I’ve found didn’t stay long but I’m still smiling. God bless you too.

      • ” We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.” Mother Teresa
